[NEW MUSIC] TAHARQA – “CHILD OF THE NILE”

Joliet Native,  Taharqa delivers a message in his single, “Child of the Nile”

Laveil Durron Palmore, who performs as Taharqa aka( Lavitacuz,) was born in Chicago Illinois, on July 11, 1984. After writing stories and poetry as a child and a teenager, he decides to write songs after participating in a freestyle session. The compliments on his delivery, lyricism and depicted image of life on the streets he grew up on came in tremendous amounts.

Back in the early 2000s, Taharqa releases a series of mixtapes under the name Lavitcuz which brought him a little attention. After taking a hiatus for some years to work on his craft, he returns with his first album in 2014 titled, “Layzal 1984.” The name ‘Layzal’ is referred to the name ‘Allah”, immortal, undying in Arabic. In 2016, his second follow-up album “Dark Times” was released.

Shortly after in 2017,  “The Cathedral” and the fourth album, “Return of a Pharoah” will release later this year. Taharqa’s lyrical delivery and poetic propolis are in the same bracket as; Ice Cube, Tupac Shakur Biggie Smalls Scarface Rakim Nas and other lyrical giants and legends in hip hop.
